Our Physical Therapists are highly trained health care professionals, specializing in the examination, evaluation and treatment of individuals with conditions that prevent normal function of daily life activites.

Kim Shaffer, PTA

Kim Shaffer graduated in 2011 from the University of Pittsburgh with a Associates of Science, PTA degree. Before moving to Colorado in 2015 she was employed at West Park Rehab in Franklin, PA. She accepted a position at Mountaintop Physical Therapy in Estes Park, which resulted in the spontaneous and adventurous move to Colorado. Kim joined the MedX physical therapy team in September 2017.

She has extensive education in Aquatic therapy which includes an Aquatic Stretch Certification from the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute. In addition to aquatic therapy, Kim has experience working with orthopedic, neurological, pediatric spinal cord injury, de-conditioned, and fall risk patients.

Kim and her husband Fred enjoy listening to local music, snow shoeing, hiking, and bike riding. They are thrilled that their daughter, Hannah, moved to Colorado as well, in May 2017.

Dr. Robert "Rob" Scrivner, PT, DPT

Rob graduated from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Science before attending the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus where he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in December 2018.

He is a · member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists with training in advanced manual therapy techniques . He believes that empowering patients to manage their health and healing through education and guidance in conjunction with skilled hands-on treatment is the most effective treatment approach.

Rob is passionate about neuroscience and the complex electrical system which functions to fine-tune every human movement. He enjoys working with patients recovering from neurological trauma including stroke and traumatic brain injury, patients experiencing dizziness or difficulties with balance, as well as patients with orthopedic injuries that result from faulty movement patterns, Robert is fascinated by the way our brains perceive and interpret pain and enjoys helping patients overcome chronic pain with education and specifically tailored exercise.

Rob loves climbing and skiing in RMNP, and has climbed big walls and· alpine routes around the world including the Chalten Massif in Patagonia, El Potrero Chico in Mexico, and many routes in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. .
